Alternative Education
Bespoke Alternative Education Programmes at Henry’s House
We are excited to launch our new Alternative Education Centre, based at Henry’s House in the heart of Chester-le-Street, County Durham. Supporting pupils with special social and emotional needs, we offer bespoke programmes for those who are disengaged from mainstream education or require additional help. Our unique and inclusive environment is ideal for one-on-one and small group learning, so every pupil gets the focus and care they need. Get in touch today with any enquiries.
Our Educational Programme
Suitable for KS3 and KS4 students, our educational programme is built around nurturing self-confidence in pupils and helping them learn and develop core skills, including life skills and work readiness. We focus on both skill development and practical and enterprise-based activities to develop and expand learners’ interests.
Our Curriculum
The curriculum covers:
- English Language
- Maths
- Personal, Health, and Social Development
- Employability
Each pupil will work at a stage appropriate to their age and ability. The curriculum offers a good balance in developing the skills of reading, writing, speaking, and listening and SPaG (Spelling, Punctuation and Grammar). KS4 pupils also have the option to either pursue a Functional Skills qualification or prepare to take their GCSE exam at home school.
Bespoke Educational Programmes
Our team provide alternative education programmes as part of our social care services.
